Day 6: Apparently I wasn't thankful for anything on Wednesday. Just kidding...I just never got around to writing. So I was very thankful for the beautiful day it turned out to be. I had to run, which I hadn't done in a week. I waited until after 11 thinking it would be chilly. It was so nice out. Because my run was totally crappy, I decided to walk with the hubs and the dog. We walked our usual route through the 55+ Active Adult Community across the street. We saw a HUGE Praying Mantis along the way and then a snake. HATE SNAKES but I was brave enough to take a pic of it. So I was just very thankful for a great day that God gave us.
Gross And More Gross!!!!
Day 7: Today I am thankful for my parents. My father passed away on tax day 2002 and my mother passed on July 3, 2011. Both days that are not easy to forget. So as I write Uncle Sam my check every year, I think about my dad and as I prepare for 4th of July festivities, I think about my mom.
They both were great parents in such different ways. My dad was pretty easy going and let us kids get away with murder. But....when he did get mad...LOOK OUT!! My mom was most definitely the disciplinarian. It was still fun to try to get away doing dumb stuff though.
I miss them both everyday. I can't tell you how many times I think to myself, "I need to tell mom..." and then I realize I can't. They both taught my brothers and I so much. They gave us the world and I am extremely blessed to have had them as long as I did. Thank you Dad and Mom for being such awesome parents and grandparents!!

Day 8: Today I am thankful for my brothers, Troy and Andy and my sister in law Jennifer. (Yes my brother and husband have the same name.) We had some great times growing up. So many memories. I think suffering through swim team and playing baseball in Glenmoore would top the list. I was so happy when Troy married Jen and I finally got the sister I never had. I couldn't have picked a better sister in law and aunt to my children. We don't get to see each other that often but when we do we always have a great time. Christmas is always a great day of total chaos. I enjoy spending the holidays with my family. With our parents being gone now, I think I appreciate my brothers and Jen even more. Thank you Jen, Troy and Andy for being the family I cherish.
