As Kristen said, we are a day behind on our Thankfulness. We were a little busy celebrating the day after Halloween yesterday with our neighborhood friends. This little celebration also made me miss my semi long run today. It was worth it. No sense in worrying about what you can't control. Which leads me to this..
DAY 1: I am thankful for my faith. My parents brought my brothers and I up as Christians (Baptist Church if you can imagine.. ha ha.) Troy and I are now Methodists however, we don't attend our church as much as we should. As I go through life, I am just so thankful that I can pray about my blessings, my problems, and even asking God to allow me to finish a half marathon. He NEVER lets me down. Our life is far from perfect, but I am so blessed to have the Lord beside me to help me through my problems day in and day out. I thank my parents for giving me this gift and I hope to pass this on to my children.
Day 2: Today I am thankful for my husband. We have been married 16 years and have been together since 1990. He cooks, he cleans, he takes the children where they need to be and he gives me the precious time I need to get my runs and bike rides in. We have been through so much together and I am so thankful that I have him by my side when I need him most. Our marriage is far from perfect but he is definitely the one I want to sit on a front porch in Florida someday rocking in our rocking chairs, talking about how great our grandchildren are. He keeps me grounded when I try to plan too many Disney trips or destination races. He has been suffering from a back injury the past year and a half which is just about the time that I took up running. I so wish his back would heal so he can start running and biking with the children and I. (Then I probably could convince him to let me do more Disney trips and races...) Anyway, Troy, I love you and I am so blessed to be married to you.
